Coloured lash extensions do not automatically have to look bold, loud or extravagant. At Le Noa we see colour as an additional tool in professional lash styling. Just like curl, length or mapping, colour can be used deliberately to soften a look, bring out the eye colour or make a client's overall appearance more harmonious.
And it is not only the eyes that matter. Hair colour, skin undertone and the natural lashes have a strong influence on which lash colour will look best in the end. It also does not always take a full set in one colour. Often it is the subtle colour nuances that look the most elegant.
Colour is part of the eye design
A lash extension treatment is not only about the technique used. A harmonious result comes from the interplay of:
- eye shape
- eye colour
- hair colour
- skin undertone
- natural lashes
- curl
- length
- volume
- mapping
- and lash colour
Above all, the colour of the extensions influences the contrast around the eye. A deep black creates clear definition. Brown looks softer and more natural. Blue can set a deliberate, interesting accent.
This is why the colour of the extensions should be chosen just as consciously as the rest of the lash look.
The Le Noa lash colours at a glance
Le Noa currently offers three colours that can be used on their own or combined with each other. You will find the coloured variants in the shop under Easy Fan Cashmere Lashes.
Matte Black
Matte Black is the classic. The deep, matte black creates clear contours and an expressive lash line.
With darker hair colours in particular, Matte Black can look very harmonious, because the contrast between hair, brows and lashes is often more coherent. With very light hair, on the other hand, black can look deliberately stronger and more striking. This is exactly why Matte Black should not automatically be the first choice for every client.
Nature Brown
Nature Brown is the softer alternative to black. The brown tone reduces the contrast around the eye and therefore creates a particularly harmonious and natural look.
It can look especially beautiful with:
- blonde hair
- dark blonde hair
- light brown hair
- warm brown tones
- natural or soft looks
With very light hair especially, a deep black set can quickly dominate. Nature Brown often blends more harmoniously with hair colour, brows and skin tone.
That does not mean Nature Brown only suits blonde clients. Brown can also be used deliberately on darker hair whenever a softer, more natural look is the goal.
Ocean Blue
Ocean Blue brings colour into lash styling without the result automatically looking extravagant. Ocean Blue can be used as a targeted accent and looks particularly high-end in combination with Matte Black or Nature Brown.
Depending on the hair colour, the effect is completely different. On dark hair, Ocean Blue can look very elegant and rich in contrast. On blonde or light brown hair, blue stands out more and can therefore be used as a deliberate colour detail.
For exactly that reason we recommend not choosing Ocean Blue by eye colour alone, but always looking at the client's overall type.
Which lash colour suits which hair colour?
The same lash colour can look completely different on two clients. One reason for this is hair colour.
Blonde and very light hair
With very light hair, Matte Black creates a noticeably stronger contrast. That can be exactly what is wanted when a client prefers an intense lash look.
Anyone who wants a particularly natural and harmonious result can achieve a softer transition between hair, brows and lashes with Nature Brown. Individual Ocean Blue accents can also look beautiful on light hair, but should be dosed deliberately because they become visible more quickly.
Light brown and dark blonde hair
Nature Brown is especially versatile here. The colour can blend very harmoniously into the overall look and still create enough definition.
For more intensity, Nature Brown can be combined with Matte Black. This creates a beautiful transition between soft and expressive.
Dark brown and black hair
On dark hair, Matte Black usually looks very harmonious and creates a clearly defined look. Nature Brown, by contrast, can be used deliberately when the result should look softer and less contrasted.
Ocean Blue can look particularly refined on dark hair, because the colour integrates subtly into a dark set and becomes visible to different degrees depending on the light.
Red and copper hair
With red or copper hair, warm brown tones can look especially harmonious. Nature Brown can support the naturally warm overall impression without looking harsh. Matte Black, on the other hand, creates a stronger contrast. Here too, the client's preferred style decides.
Grey or very cool hair colours
With grey, silver or very cool hair colours, the overall contrast should also be considered. Matte Black can look very elegant and clear here. Nature Brown can deliberately soften the result. What matters is whether the client prefers a more striking or a more natural look.
It does not always have to be a full colour set
When people think of coloured lashes, the image that comes to mind is usually a completely blue or brown set. But there are far more subtle options.
In everyday studio work in particular, individual coloured fans or fine colour nuances between classic extensions can look especially high-end. The look stays elegant and wearable, but still gains something special.
With our Le Noa colours, the following combinations are possible, for example:
- Matte Black + Ocean Blue: a classic black look with targeted blue accents.
- Matte Black + Nature Brown: ideal for making a black set look softer and more natural.
- Nature Brown + Ocean Blue: a particularly interesting combination for softer looks with an individual colour detail.
All three colours can of course also be combined, as long as eye colour, hair colour and the desired mapping work together.
A small nuance instead of a big effect
For clients who want to try colour for the first time, we at Le Noa recommend a subtle start. Instead of colouring the entire set straight away, individual colour accents can be worked in first.
For example:
- individual Ocean Blue fans between Matte Black
- Nature Brown between Matte Black for softer transitions
- colour accents around the iris
- a mix of Nature Brown and Matte Black
- Ocean Blue only in the outer corner
Depending on the light, these nuances may only be subtly visible and still give the set noticeably more depth. Colour does not have to be loud to make a difference.
Where is colour best placed?
Placement has a decisive influence on how strongly the colour is perceived.
In the outer corner
Ocean Blue in the outer third can set a particularly beautiful accent and support the mapping visually at the same time.
Around the iris
When colour is placed deliberately near the iris, the natural eye colour can move further into the foreground.
Distributed across the whole set
Individual coloured fans, evenly distributed across the set, create a subtle and particularly harmonious effect.
As a soft gradient
Transitions can also look very elegant. Nature Brown into Matte Black, for example, or Matte Black into Ocean Blue. The colour then becomes part of the overall design instead of looking like a randomly placed accent.
Looking at eye colour and hair colour together
Eye colour is an important reference point – but never the only criterion. Only together with hair colour does a more complete picture emerge.
A client with blue eyes and very blonde hair can look completely different in Nature Brown than a client with blue eyes and dark brown hair. The same applies to brown or green eyes.
This is why at Le Noa we always consider several factors at once:
- eye colour
- hair colour
- brow colour
- skin undertone
- natural lashes
- desired intensity
- personal style
The result is a lash look that does not simply match the eye colour, but the client as a whole.
Our Le Noa tip for lash artists
During the consultation, do not only ask: “What eye colour does my client have?” Ask as well: “How strong should the contrast to hair, brows and skin be?”
With very light hair in particular, Nature Brown can make a big difference. On darker hair, Matte Black can look especially harmonious. And Ocean Blue can be used as a targeted accent, whether or not a full colour set is wanted.
If a client is still unsure about colour, start with a few deliberate nuances. That way you can find out step by step which combination suits her type best.
Conclusion
With Matte Black, Nature Brown and Ocean Blue, a wide range of looks can be created at Le Noa. From classic and intense through soft and natural to modern colour accents.
And it is not only eye colour and eye shape that decide the perfect result. Hair colour also plays a decisive role in the overall contrast and harmony of the look.
Colour does not automatically mean working a full set in one shade. Often it is the small nuances, the targeted colour accents and the individual combinations that make a lash look special.
